Mr. David Ray: Board Chairman
Mr. Ray is a co-founder of IPOC with almost 30 years of executive leadership experience in the biotechnology and diagnostic industry with both large public companies and entrepreneurial new ventures. Mr. Ray served as the Vice President, Operations for Nanogen with responsibility for the daily operations of the Point of Care division. Mr. Ray joined Nanogen in a leadership role as part of its purchase of the Spectral Diagnostics’ cardiac business unit. Mr. Ray served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Spectral, a publicly traded medical diagnostics company located in Toronto Canada. While founding IPOC, Mr. Ray also served as Interim CEO for Aruna Biomedical, a biotechnology company focused on unique life science products using proprietary stem cell technology. Mr. Ray was President and co-founder of Abacus Diagnostic Systems, a start-up technology venture focused on moving early stage diagnostic concepts through the product development process. Mr. Ray began his career in the life science industry during his 12 year tenure at AMF Medical Products, where he worked in various organizational disciplines including, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Business Development. Mr. Ray received his Bachelor of Science in Physiology from Texas State University and his MBA from The University of Texas, San Antonio.
Mr. Garth Styba: President
Mr Styba is a co-founder of IPOC with 25 years of management and research and development experience in the biotechnology industry. Mr. Styba’s most recent tenure, prior to IPOC, was as Nanogen Point of Care’s Director of Production and Product Improvements. Prior to Nanogen, Mr Styba held key positions in the Sepsis and Cardiac divisions of Spectral Diagnostics Inc. Prior to Spectral Diagnostics Mr. Styba spent his early career working for Allelix Diagnostics in the scale-up of in-vitro diagnostic test products and began his career at the Ontario Ministry of Health working in the areas of Parisitology, Special Bacteriology and Legionaires. Mr Styba holds an Honours B.Sc degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry from the University of Toronto.
Mr. George Baxevanakis: Vice President, Operations
Mr. Baxevanakis is a co-founder of IPOC and has over 15 years experience in the biotechnology industry. Prior to IPOC,
Mr. Baxevanakis served as the Production Manager of Nanogen Point of Care Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Baxevanakis spent over 10 years at Spectral Diagnostics Inc., where he began his career in Research & Development, in the area of assay development and later served as the Production Manager. Mr. Baxevanakis graduated with an Honours B.Sc degree in Biology from the University of Toronto.
